A: Erik: A HERS score not only provides insight on future utility costs but also offers a window into the home’s construction quality. A low HERS score is an indicator that energy-efficient practices were employed, which signals both savings for the homeowner and superior craftsmanship.
Q: Why does Hagstrom Builder choose to have their homes HERS® Rated?
A: Erik: It reinforces our mission in building: “No Shortcuts. Ever.” When clients see the superior energy efficiency in the houses we build, they gain a deeper understanding for the high standards we maintain and product we offer. Even in houses that aren’t specifically designed with net zero goals in mind, our HERS ratings are well above the industry average.

A: Erik: We conduct a HERS rating on every house we build. This year, we have already completed 4 tests.
