Q: What is special about a HERS® Rated home?
A: MJ: The HERS® rating showcases buyers how energy efficient our homes truly are. It allows consumers to quantify the energy savings and compare to other houses.
Q: Why should consumers ask for the HERS® Index Score on homes they are shopping for?
A: MJ: Consumers should ask for the HERS® index to see how well a home performs in the terms of energy consumption. The HERS® Score will give consumers knowledge on energy performance and an insight into energy costs. Helps budget for overall home expenses.
Q: Why does Home Creations choose to have their homes HERS® Rated?
A: MJ: We have our homes rated because we want our homebuyers to know that our homes are energy-efficient, which saves them money on energy bills. The rating also helps customers understand the importance of energy efficiency and what is truly behind the walls of our homes.
Q: Why consumers should expect energy-efficient homes?
A: MJ: We care about the planet and want to help reduce the carbon footprint that gets left behind. Also, the weather in Oklahoma changes all the time and with extremely hot temperatures in the summer and record-breaking lows during the winter, consumers should expect to have a well-built home that will save them on their electric bill.
Q: How many homes does Home Creations build with HERS® per year?
A: MJ: All of our homes are rated by the HERS® Index. We build from 650 to 700 homes per year.
Q: How do you market HERS® Rated homes?
A: MJ: All of our homes are rated, and we market these numbers in various ways. We showcase our HERS® ratings, per floor plan, on our website. We also have flyers in market homes that showcase the HERS® rating of that specific home. Plus, we have a separate webpage about how energy-efficient our homes are, with our low HERS® scores and everything we add behind the walls to achieve such low scores.
Q: How do your customers feel about HERS® Rated homes?
A: MJ: Educating our buyers is key. After educating them, they love knowing they have an energy-efficient home that will save them money! Buyers also love hearing about the third-party inspection to ensure energy efficiency and score of the home.
